The weather protective acoustic canopy helps protect the generating set from the elements while reducing operating noise to approximately 73 dB(A) at 1 metre, or 65 dB(A) at 7 metres. The complete generator is mounted on a heavy duty fabricated steel base frame, with anti-vibration pads fitted between the engine, alternator, and base frame to help isolate vibration and support smoother operation.

For safer diesel storage on site, the ED14.5KYE/3-400 includes a fully bunded fuel tank compliant with AS 1940-2004, providing secondary containment designed to retain and recover spillage if required. A trickle charge battery charger is also fitted to help ensure the generator is ready to start when needed.

The standard auto-start control module supports local or remote starting and provides key monitoring and protection functions, including alternator frequency and speed sensing, generator/load power monitoring, accumulated power monitoring, generator overload protection, engine speed protection, run-time scheduling, battery voltage monitoring, and static battery charging. It can also be configured to operate with an Automatic Transfer Switch for automatic standby power applications.
