The Welling & Crossley ED8.8KYE-400 8.8kVA Single Phase Standby Diesel Generator is a compact diesel backup power solution designed for dependable standby performance across residential, rural, commercial, and light industrial applications. Powered by a proven Kubota D1105 diesel engine and matched with a Crossley SLG series single bearing, 4-pole brushless alternator, this generator is built to deliver reliable single phase power when mains supply is unavailable.
This model includes a large 400 litre bunded fuel tank, making it especially practical for sites where extended standby runtime and reduced refuelling frequency are important. The generator is supplied with a weather protective acoustic canopy, helping shield the unit from the elements while reducing operating noise to approximately 70 dB(A) at 1 metre or 63 dB(A) at 7 metres.
Designed as a fully integrated Welling & Crossley power generation system, the ED8.8KYE-400 includes a remote start/stop control system and standard auto-start control module. The control system supports local or remote start/stop operation, alternator frequency and speed sensing, generator/load monitoring, overload protection, engine speed protection, run-time scheduling, battery voltage monitoring, and static battery charging. It can also be configured to operate with an Automatic Transfer Switch for automatic standby power applications.
The complete generating set is mounted on a heavy duty fabricated steel base frame, with anti-vibration pads fitted between the engine, alternator, and frame to help isolate vibration and support smooth operation. The AS 1940-2004 compliant bunded fuel tank provides secondary containment for diesel storage, helping support safer and more practical installation on site.
